Literary Translator in Czech

Literary translation from or into Czech consists in the translation of works of literature and therefore can be the most creative and challenging of all translation jobs. There are several aspects that differentiate it from other types of translation, since literature allows us to exchange experiences and ideas, develops the aesthetic sense, transmits values and is an infinite source of entertainment.

Literary translators of  Czech usually belong to writers’ associations, or to a section of an association for Czechs translators in general. Literary translation from or into Czech has usually more freedom to go away from the original text, to adapt cultural references and sometimes to add or eliminate certain aspects of the original version.

This association includes for the most part translators who translate from a foreign language into Czech. It is based in  Prague (Czech Republic) and its professionals are focused on Czechs readers and on Czech culture.
