Sworn Translators in Spain

This association of sworn translators is made up of professional linguists who translate from Spanish or into Spanish. Its translators are certified by an official Spain official agency or department.

Sworn translations, also known as official or certified translations, include the translator’s signature, his or her identification details, a stamp and a certificate stating that the original document has been faithfully translated into or from Spanish. This type of service is usually required for the translation of official documents, notarial deeds, patents, contracts, company statutes or academic certificates to be submitted before an agency, court or academic institution.

The current Spanish association of sworn translators is located in Valladolid (Spain) and the translations signed by its members are acknowledged and officially accepted in Spain and other countries.

Court translators and interpreters for Spanish

Spanish-language court translators and court interpreters are competent in court and police courts to produce reliable translations with legal recognition. Whether written or oral Spanish translations, these professionals translate sentences, oral depositions, statements, deeds or expert reports, among things.

The work of Spanish-speaking court translators and interpreters overlaps with the role of the (official) sworn translator for Spanish, and in fact many translators who act in court are also sworn translators recognized by an official body in Spain.

In this Spanish association, you will find a directory of translators and interpreters authorised to work for the Spanish Authorities. There is most likely another association for sworn translators in Spanish language, specially focusing on these type of professionals. If there is one, you will find the link below.
