There is no directory of translators, but it is the only association of its kind in Estonia.

Professional Translators for Estonian

Association of Professional Translators for the Estonian language. Translators are professional linguists who perform written translations, as opposed to oral or spoken translation, which is done by interpreters. In this type of associations we usually find translators specializing in many fields: technical, legal, medical, pharmaceutical and scientific. We might also find sworn/official translators who have been authorized by a Estonian agency or department.

Estonian translators are mostly freelancers working from home for their own clients or for translation agencies. They sometimes team up with other Estonian and other language translators and proofreaders to expand their range of services. The work of a Estonian translator consists of thoroughly understanding the text to be translated, getting to know the subject matter, carrying out terminology research and knowing the computer tools to help with translation, which will enable him/her to offer a cost-effective and quality work.

This particular Estonian association is made up of translators of various specializations and language combinations.  There is probably another association in Estonia focusing on sworn translators, technical translators, audiovisual translators or court translators.
